Lloyd Davenport Limited Commitment to getting everyone home safely
Our Commitment
We at Lloyd Davenport Ltd want the best for all our workforce, both directly employed those who are self employed. Our priority is that everyone has a safe environment to work in and will always return home safely. There are a number of different procedures in place which are listed below to ensure this happens. To ensure the safety of our workforce, Lloyd Davenport Ltd will supply the appropriate resources required for each and every task on site and in the office environments. The procedures mentioned also cover the safety of others whether it be other workers on site or members of the public. The supply of organisation services, operation and maintenance of all equipment and materials, it is the aim of the Company to do everything possible to prevent personal injury and damage.
Documentation
Written procedures and policies provide the basis of ensuring safety for all. Procedures and policies are reviewed and approved by an external Safety advisor with over 25 years of experience providing Health and Safety management and advice. His qualification include CMIOSH, MIOSH, Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health and Certificate of Education. Along side our Health and Safety, we have policies in Accident reporting, Drugs and Alcohol, Environmental Policy, Modern Slavery, Anti Bribery and Quality. Each year we obtain the relevant SSIP qualifications required by our Clients, we currently hold a SMAS and CQMS certificates.
Monitoring
Having all of the above documentation will only be beneficial if it is communicated and followed by all. To do this we start with the Training of our Office and Production staff which is highlighted below. It is crucial that these procedures are fully communicated and understood to all on site. Before any operative begins work on a site, the following will happen; all operatives are sent a Health and Safety booklet which they must read then sign. On the first day they arrive on site they will be met by our site Contracts Manager who will go through our site specific RAMS which have been compiled by our Safety Director. They can not start work until they have confirmed they fully understand the site requirements. Our Contracts Manager will also inspect all equipment before use to ensure it is safe and compliant. Toolbox talks will be undertaken a Minium of fortnightly or as and when required.
Training
Training is pivotal in ensuring our commitment to safety is achieved. All new Contracts Managers/Assistant Supervisors are put on a SSSTS course, Supervisor NVQ and obtain the relevant CSCS card. Training such as PASMA courses, Oxford Landing Systems courses and other required training will be given where necessary. In house training will be provided monthly during our Contract Managers Meeting. All directly employed staff will be given training in Health and Safety, Accident reporting, Drugs and Alcohol, Environmental Policy, Modern Slavery, Anti Bribery and Quality. All site operative will be monitored to ensure they have up to date CSCS cards, relevant qualifications and signed and fully understood our Health and Safety document. Any Sub-Contract Companies used on site will are asked to complete a Health and Safety questionnaire.
